What we collect, and what we do with it.
No template, no boilerplate — this describes what the site and the ATS behind it actually do. Last reviewed September 2026.
Who we are
Mera Talent operates meratalent.eu and the applicant tracking system behind it. We decide why and how the data described here is used — in the language of the GDPR, we are the controller.
Questions, or a request about your own data: contact@meratalent.eu.
What we collect, and why
If you apply as a specialist. Your name, e-mail address, phone number, LinkedIn and portfolio links, the disciplines you work in, years of experience, country and city, working hours, languages, certifications, availability, the project you told us about, and your CV. We use it to judge whether we can place you, and to contact you about work. Providing it is how an application is made; there is no other route to being considered.
If you send a brief as a company. Your name, work e-mail address, company, and what you told us about the role — so we can reply and put a shortlist together.
If you only read the site. Page views and approximate location at country level, and which link brought you here. With your consent, also the analytics in the table below.
The typefaces are served from this domain, not from Google's. Reading the site sends no request to a third party you did not choose.
On what legal basis
Applications and briefs are processed to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and on our legitimate interest in running a recruitment business. Analytics cookies run only on your consent, which you can withdraw at any moment — reopens the choice. Withdrawing does not undo what was lawful before you withdrew.
Who else sees it
Only the providers that run the service, under contract and on our instructions: Vercel (hosting), Neon (the database), Cloudflare R2 (CV storage), Google Workspace (our e-mail), and — with your consent — Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Anthropic's API is used to help screen applications; that data is not used to train models.
A candidate's profile goes to a specific client only for a specific role, and we tell you before it does. We do not sell data and we do not share it for advertising.
Some of those providers are based in the United States. Those transfers rest on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or on Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Applications stay in our talent database for two years after your last contact with us, so we can come back to you when a role fits; after that they are deleted. Company briefs are kept for the life of the relationship and two years beyond. Analytics data is retained for fourteen months. Ask us to delete any of it sooner and we will.
Cookies and local storage
Three of the five entries below are strictly necessary and run whatever you choose. The other two are the ones the banner asks about, and neither loads before you accept.
| What | Where and how long | Why | Basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| mera:attribution | Local storage · 30 days | Remembers which link brought you here — a LinkedIn message, an e-mail, a search — so an application you send weeks later is credited to it. Holds no name or address. | Strictly necessary |
| mera:consent | Local storage · 180 days | Your answer to the cookie banner, so we stop asking. | Strictly necessary |
| Vercel Analytics | No cookie | Counts page views and visitors without storing anything on your device or building a profile. | Strictly necessary |
| Google Analytics 4 | Cookie · up to 2 years | Tells us which pages and campaigns lead to applications and briefs, and which are wasted effort. | Only with your consent |
| Microsoft Clarity | Cookie · up to 1 year | Aggregated heatmaps and anonymised session replays, so we can see where a form confuses people. | Only with your consent |
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and ask for it in a portable form. Write to contact@meratalent.eu and we will answer within a month. If we get it wrong you can complain to your national data protection authority — in Belgium, the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données.
